about me

For those offering reviews, please do my newest story "Dreams of the Fallen (Book Two of Temple of the Traveler)"

"Doors to Eternity", "Foundation for the Lost", "Jezebel's Ladder," and "the Scarab" are available in e-book format from Smashwords and Amazon, and through /createspace print-on-demand.

I'm a computer programmer and math geek for a living. I've shown symptoms of being a writer since second grade. I published only one short before deciding this was an exercise in masochism.

My goal is to find a detailed world and characters that I love, hoping that others will love them too. Please let me know what you like, what you don't, and where you stop reading/why. Feedback helps writers grow.

According to Neil Gaiman, "When people tell you something's wrong or doesn't work for them, they are almost always right. When they tell you exactly what they think is wrong and how to fix it, they are almost always wrong."

Roger Zelany's Bridge of Ashes, because it reads best in one sitting, to be held in your mind all at once.

Very readable. real and not preachy. Feels like watching A Denzel Washington or Wesley Snipes street movie. Intro - unashamed hedonist/materialist chapter 1: very funny defining childhood moment chapter 2: intesting, our street entrepreneur discovers an ambush in the making Chapter 3: he turns ... view book

But when he encounters the doorknob in the workshop, he finds out why. Any flat surface the brass knob touches can become a... view book

A BHCG review -- Over all , I enjoyed it and read farther than I normally do for reviews. Plot/pacing Starting with a witch burning is a real wow. The story re-begins well with birth, normal day as a witch, and then in 3 a couple sinister tones start. In four we get love interest, and several ... view book

A BHCG review Jack the Ripper tells his side. Reminds me of an excellent Fred Saberhagen book where the infamous Dracula tells his side. Looks well-researched, so if you're not careful, you might learn something. Plot / Pacing Prologue too much like a school essay. An interesting thesis, but ... view book

Solid grammar. Nothing but the Blood takes us from the physical harshness of draught-ridden Australian cattle country to the emotional harshness of several personal crises. It shows how a talented young girl survives both. Dianna takes you there. By the end of the second chapter, you'll be coughing... view book
