about me

Much as I would love to be up there with the top crime writers, I know I've got a long way to go. Gold dagger? Probably not even ready for a tin one yet.

I'm a Civil Servant. Love classical music and History, especially the Tudor period and WW I and the resistance, SOE and secret agents in WW II.

Want to earn my money from writing. The Doll Collection is my first novel. I'm working on my second.

favourite books

Too many to mention, but here are some of my favourite, contemporary, writers.

Agatha Christie
Peter Robinson
Ruth Rendell
PD James
Jon Cleary
Val McDermid
Minette Walters
Douglas Kennedy
Leon Uris

Pleanty of internal and external conflict here that you describe well. Well drawn characters and emotions. I'm putting this on my shelf. Best wishes, Peter. view book

Your matter-of-fact prose makes this menacing. You end Ch1 with a perfect cliff hanger. On my WL. It will go on my shelf sometime next week. Peter. view book

Hi James, You capture sound, sight and smells very well. This is the sort of book readers would buy on the pitch and first page alone. It promises an enticing and exciting story fraught with danger. I'll put this on my shelf sometime next week. Peter. view book

Beautifully written in a visual and lyrical style. This is a book that readers would buy on the pitch and first paragraph alone. Mystery and menace blend. I will back this tonight as soon as I decide which book to remove from my shelf. Peter. view book
