about me

An Australian living in Norway, I am an author, documentation specialist, freelance editor and independent publisher.

I love to listen to lounge jazz and classical music... well actually I like listening to anything I can write, dance or sleep to. My favourite sound is the contented purring of a cat.

I'm on Authonomy to read, and am looking for dark tales that tingle the spine and set the skin creeping. I love folk and fairy tales (not the sugar-coated kind, but the sinister, oftentimes gruesome morality tales of old), ghost stories, and anything that explores the darker side of human nature.

I am writing a YA paranormal series that is currently on submission to publishers through my agent.

favourite books

Wuthering Heights, Emily Brontë
Gone with the Wind, Margaret Mitchell
The Happy Prince and Other Tales, Oscar Wilde
A House of Pomegranates, Oscar Wilde
The Harry Potter Series, J K Rowling
The Time Traveller's Wife, Audrey Niffeneger
Cat's Cradle, Kurt Vonnegut Jr
The Hunger Games trilogy, Suzanne Collins

This is the sort of book that rather than grabbing you by the shoulders and forcing you to read on, it opens a door, smiles and waits for you to take your time coming on through. Nevertheless, it's impossible to reject that invitation. I felt like I was reading about people I knew, even before you'd... view book

I hate doing the glowing, empty praise thing, but what else can I say? You clearly can't learn anything from me, and I'm not sure if I hate you or my book more after reading this... neither, really. I just hate being made to feel inferior. ;) The only advice I can offer is that you start sending ... view book

YARG! Here's your review: As some of your other reviewers have mentioned, we need more superheroines, and Miss Justice is a great addition. I can tell from your writing that you've researched the genre and know what you're writing about. The writing itself could do with a bit of tightening up.... view book

YARG review I read the first four chapters and would have read on if I had time. This was a funny and lively read, and Cassidy is a great character. She has a lovely, bubbly personality and is very easy to like, despite her getting into trouble all the time. The voice is just right for the 10 yea... view book

This is a story that kids in this age-group will relate well to. Many of them will go through the same thing in various different ways and will be faced with the same feelings and decisions to make. Jessup is a character these kids will empathise with and this is an excellent starting point. I li... view book
