about me

Writing - not just an art, but a spiritual connection to those you know, those you wish to know, those you create; to . . . whatever and whomever you wish.

When not writing, I knit, watch old movies, read loads of fiction, political satire, and anything that strikes my fancy, and I sing all the time.

If you would like for me to read your work, then we will do a reading swap of no less than 6 chapters - doesn't matter which 6.

Backing books: If I really like your work and I choose to back it, I back it for an entire month. If there is another book that I believe deserves backing and I need to take yours down for a while, I will send you a message.

Although I read most genres, there are some which do not strike my fancy. They are: stories about vampires, demons, gruesome murder tales - (the blood, guts and gore kind), and stories which contain lots of profanity and blatant sex with no purpose other than to shock.

Like Corns on My Toes

Ashara

Growing up in church, the minister's daughter, is supposed to mean you are protected. Sometimes, it only means you are accessible to the wrong people.

"“There’s lot’s of us – folks hurt by parents, uncles, pastors, good every Sunday go to church, jump, shout, and holler church folks. Some even speak in tongues, see visions, feed the poor.”

"Like Corns on My Toes" could be the story of any other girl, in any other church.

CURRENTLY UNDER REVISION: The first 5 chapters are posted as the book is currently under revision. Please revisit over the next few weeks to see the new and improved version. Thank you, Ashara

Sarah: I am proud of you for showing such bravery in putting your story here for all of us to see and to hear. I believe, strongly, that stories of child abuse in all its forms need to be boldly addressed and not glossed over. You make a great attempt to do just that. Others on the site ha... view book

Deborah, I must commend you on this effort to help the children of pastors; I only wish such a guide had existed when I was a child. The children of pastors face a difficult life, often not because of their parents, but because of the unrealistic expectations placed upon them by virtue of their birt... view book

Hello, Joanne: I have read the first two chapters of your work, "See You in Dreamland" (not counting your letter re: the concept). I read it mainly because having 3 granddaughters,I have found that I still enjoy children's stories; also, your concept intrigued me. The concept is good. I love tt... view book

What a wonderful way to bring the conception and birth of Christ into tthe 21st century for both young and old. It is truly a different take on an Old, Old story. I like how it sounds more like a conversation than a hard-line story. The description of Joseph 'Joey' Perillo as a Jack Russell ter... view book

Hello, Cait: WOW! WOW! STUNNING! PROVOKING! I read up to chapter 11. I was enthralled. The emotion, the realness, your use of dialogue - so life-like. You have an incredible gift. I hope this gets published. Whatever you don't, don't stop until it is. WOW! view book
