about me

Family is my life. Writing is my passion. Most of my writing has been instructional and I still write instructional material and host www.rainbowriter.com (a support community for writers, editors and publishers. Please feel free to join or contact me through the site for discussions not related to or appropriate for Authonomy.com.)
In semi-retirement I've found time to venture into the worlds of fiction, creative non-fiction and writing for children.
In the autumn of my life, I have become courageous and outspoken. I embrace controversy. I admire the courage and personal strength of those who stand fearlessly for their beliefs and for good and right.
I welcome a challenge and I refuse to withdraw from truth, no matter how ugly or unpopular.
I am enraged at the callous injustice, hypocrisy and unconscionable dishonesty of bureaucrats, politicians and racist activists who perpetrate social injustice and fuel the fires of anger and resentment.
My heroes are the unsung battlers: those who suffer quietly and with serene acceptance of that which is unacceptable - man's inhumanity to man - yet continue to love, to give, and to hope.
I find myself yielding to a furious yearning to use my pen to ''nudge the world a little'' - to expose and hopefully inspire remedy of social injustice; to applaud unsung heroes; to openly condemn greed, malice, cruelty and evil.

I have removed ''The Pencil Case'' from Authonomy after publishing on Smashwords and through Lightning Source. Ask for a coupon to download free if you are willing to publish a Smashwords review for me.

I will post other writings soon. Meanwhile, I wish all my good friends on Authonomy every success and happiness, and thank yu for your friendship.

This is a great story with a strong and timely theme with which readers will readily identify. Having read the entire book, I intend to review it more thoroughly on another forum. What I can say here is that the writer is clearly a competent wordsmith. I love the imagery. There are some moments of... view book

I read to the end of Chapter 4 and was engrossed. Flows easily, and paints vivid images with only bare hints of description - never overdone. The tension is measured and the sci-fi ingredient understated so that it feels natural. This is one of the minority of books on this site that is polished ... view book

You have an important story to tell, Jessamine, and you show courage in telling it so honestly and in graphic detail. I agree with Casimir, though, that this feels like an early draft. I found it hard to follow at times. I had a strong sense that it needed heavy editing. There was some undesirable w... view book

A review, rather than a critique, because it has already made the editor's desk and is published: Outstanding for its originality and depth, M.A. McRae’s ''Not a Man'' is an amazing work that will transport you to a foreign world. It will let you experience a lifestyle and culture that is most li... view book
