about me

My name's Chris, hate being called Christopher. Born and raised in Essex, UK. The village where i live is home and always will be. I hate having my photo taken - i always look like a plonker. Music is my biggest passion; BeeGees are favourite band ever, U2 are a close second. I have a broad range of music likes, rock, pop, swing, country, folk to name a few genres. Also a keen follower of snooker, never miss a televised frame. My favourite TV shows are Doctor Who, House, Magnum P.I., Masterchef. Love to read and write fiction, of course. More details on that in the 'Favourite Published Books' box. My great uncle was the author Desmond Bagley.

My novel 'The Apocalypse Programme' is now available in e-book: http://www.mobipocket.com/en/eBooks/eBookDetails.asp?BookID=488738

A Very English Affair

Christopher Robert Anderson

Dangerous games of love, deception and betrayal of individuals and superpowers during the Cold War.

1970. Romance is blossoming between James Turner, newly promoted director of the British Secret Intelligence Service's cryptography department, and his new secretary, Anna Bond. A newly recruited agent to SIS, a high-ranking KGB officer, wants to defect. The intelligence he reveals is that the KGB also has a new recruit, one revealing everything regarding British work on cryptography. Known KGB officers at the Soviet Embassy in London are immediately placed under surveillance. The war of superpowers unfolds as dangerous games of love, deception and betrayal meet intelligence officers on both sides of the Iron Curtain.

Scarlet

Christopher Robert Anderson

A hired assassin. The targets: western intelligence and security officers. John Ferry, ex-SIS, has a past with his government. Paranoia and suspicion are rife.

An assassin is hired by a rich Islamist to kill four members of Western intelligence and law enforcement organizations. The assassin studies each of the first three targets in depth before striking. The fourth target is John Ferry, ex-British Intelligence. On assignment in the Middle East, his colleague disappears with one million pounds of Government money, leaving Ferry to be Prime Suspect Number One. Although cleared by a board of inquiry, he is still forced from the Service by the Foreign Minister and SIS’ Chief. Now residing in the sleepy Essex village of his childhood, a career of cautiousness and suspicion is a habit of a lifetime that will not be broken. Paranoia is rife as he believes he is being watched, still the subject of an SIS investigation.

Have just read the prologue. A good start, i thought. A previous comment said the prologue was a little long for her, i thought that to be so as well. The way to address it, i would suggest, would be to edit down some explanations about the girl's mother, and edit some of the guy's searching at the ... view book

Very well written, in the style of Robert Ludlum and Frederick Forsyth. The same crisp detail. Would you, or anyone reading this, be kind enough to have a read of the novel I’m currently writing, and uploading to authonomy, called ‘A Very English Affair’ and leave a comment, back it, add to a wat... view book

A fast-paced opening, the kind to hook a reader in. If i picked this up in the library, i would read on after the first chapter. I'm going to read on here on authonomy. Would you, or anyone reading this, be kind enough to have a read of the novel I’m currently writing, and uploading to authonomy,... view book

Having read that you have a publisher now and Orion's Eye has been released as a second edition, i'm not surprised. It's in the classic Jack Higgins tradition, lots of forward momentum and highly readable. I don't think you're going to need luck with this, well luck in the right places - you know wh... view book
