about me

Hello Everyone! My name is James, and I'm an aspiring writer. I'm thankful for everyone's support and how welcomed I was to the community, and I shall start adding books to my bookshelf after browsing around the site a bit more and get my legs.

My name is James Vokkon and I am an aspiring young author (at only 15) with a great interest in literature, as it is my life’s passion. For two and a half years now I have been writing my novel, and now after much editing, I have deemed it suitable to upload online. I am excited that I am now able to follow my life’s dream, as it has always been my life’s ambition to write.

My main avenue of reading is science fiction and young adult novels. I prefer these because of the dynamic plots, which help pull me in and take me to worlds quite unlike our own. Since I was young I’ve always been interested with the darker elements of science fiction and fantasy, the idea of society eventually collapsing, due to implacable flaws within humanity itself, are what I find simply fascinating. I wouldn’t say I have any favourite author or particular influences, but that my flavour of genre has developed from many largely unknown writers, as I prefer standalone books over series, although I’d say Darren Shan influenced a lot of my choices from when I was younger.

Iacet

James Vokkon

A forgotten man slowly finds his world crumbling after escaping from a human experimentation facility.

Iacet, a sci-fi, adventure novel tell the story of a broken world and Rewin, a sarcastic and unstable but intelligent man and his survival. After most of the world falls into a triple dip recession, the leading governments and rulers go bankrupt. Iacet, a company formed by some of the richest businessmen in the world, are formed to bring stability and create a private state having its own laws and security forces, which they accomplish by buying land from the rulers. As Iacet go bankrupt themselves, they create a human research facility in the middle of the Nevada desert, where they perform services for those with the money. Many years later, Rewin is kidnapped by them after he is framed for murder and his prison bus disappears in the middle of a transfer. Now stuck in a living nightmare which threatens his nature, Rewin fights for his life in both mind and body, before an opportunity for escape appears right under his nose. However, stuck in a loop of paranoia and revenge and finding himself in a futuristic land he doesn’t remember, he slowly finds the remains of his world crumbling around him.

Thank you for the comments, and I see where you're coming from with the issue of the speed of the story, but I always intended for the beginning to have a very fast speed. The thing is, I put so much back-story there because I found it fitting that the main character would look back over his dec... view book
