about me

This is Ame.
She likes to smile, laugh, argue and enjoy a glass of wine.

She loves authonomy and hopes to get feed-back from other writers and readers. Two of her books are uploaded here.

'Normsville Knot' is an allegorical tale, a melange of fact, fiction and social history, which tries to capture some lasting truths about the human condition. The full Trilogy is available on her website.

Ame has also uploaded a few chapters of another book, 'Wolfmother', which contains stories from raw reality lived on the edge outside the usual safety net of European society.

"A big 'Thank you' to my friends for continued encouragement and support!"

Wolfmother

Ame Wren

The centre of Amsterdam lures with many objects of desire. Children don't belong here.

A young woman fights to keep her children happy and her family intact while living in the famous red-light district. Money is tight, and jobs are scarce. She's not a prostitute. That makes it difficult.

When the family arrive in this open-minded metropolis their dreams of acceptance and belonging seem to be coming true. But homelessness and illegality soon take their toll. The children are hungry. They want love and attention. It's a dilemma.

There is an obvious solution, which comes at a cost. In a bid to fight poverty and devastation she opens her home as the local 'shooting gallery'. Alongside a much needed income, drugs come flooding in and change the rules. The tide seems against her. Another baby is on the way.

The circumstances may be depressing, but Amsterdam has its own magic and things move along by themselves. Moments of humour and laughter keep shining through and make life worth living.

Difficult to imagine how, but this story has a 'happy' ending.

Ame Wren

A fairytale : Living and surviving in a deceitful town.

Fable and Odyssey for the 21st century.

In this tale animals play actors in a life- drama. The field is Normsville, a lively market town with meaningful monuments and nightly secrets where our hero, T. O. Bear lives in a comfortable house as a successful business man.
But one thing is wrong . . . His fur. It is partially white, making him look like a Panda and leaving him with a dubious reputation as victim of prejudice and ridicule.

During three 24-hour journeys his own background and upbringing are revealed, as well as the true history and tarnished legacy of his town. The uploaded Book 1 takes the reader through youth and early romance, and then embarks on a path of growing maturity. All this is reflected against a frame of Emily making tea, reading to her toys and suffering pangs of loneliness.

The journeys lead through a land of allegorical images. Normal human experiences guide the storyline, and while the backdrop of urban life creates a mellow scenery, it is also the place where twisted history, greed and corruption find ample breeding ground.

Hi Leelah, I've started your book and found many an interesting thought in the first six chapters. I do not always agree with your argument, but if the stated principles have helped you level something which was bigger than yourself once, then that's a valid reason for stating the argument. Read 9-12 Again, the writing is very enticing and there is a lot of wisdom residing in your sentences. At times it is very lucid, at others rather mysterious and irrational, i.e. Hugh's fear to stumble and fall seems out of character, and the thought that death is something to be frightened of, s... view book

Hi Bethany, I read the uploaded chapters. I was impressed with your honesty, and found the story interesting due to the deceit and your struggle for improvement. While the writing seemed flawless, I was missing some kind of explanation about Taylor and your relationship, as I thought that might a... view book

Chap 2 The plot thickens and I enjoyed the pace of this chapter which seems to be setting up the chess pieces for this great power game between opposing forces.
