about me

Who am I? - I'm a husband of one and a father of four. I'm a writer unpublished, and a dreamer undaunted. I'm a seeker of truth who hopes for the best. I'm a contradiction made whole by a God without division. Oh and I'm on Facebook, so if you want to look me up and make friends, please do.

Concerning my writing: I've always had an active imagination, and I've been putting pen to paper as a hobby ever since high school. And yes, I would love to be published.

My first book is finally complete at only 285,000 words! It was like when you cook, and you keep adding tasty things until, in the end, you need a bigger pot! Anyway, taking in account the excessive size of my novel, I have decided to post it here in three volumes.

I'm currently writing another story set in the same world as this first book, and I'm enjoying every minute of it.

favourite books

I love The Hobbit, The Lord of the Rings, and all other things Tolkien. I also love The Chronicles of Narnia and all things Lewis. The Bible, of course, has always been a great inspiration to me, and I would name it as the most important book I have ever read.

The Parting of Shadows

R. Jason Lynch

You can now buy an e-book copy of my book on Lulu! It's over 700 pages for the low price of $7.00!

Found in the sands of the desert when she was only newborn, a shepherdess named Livid is oddly colorless, and to most who see her, she seems dreadfully ill. Being a foundling, her past is a complete mystery. The only clue to her true origins is a reoccurring nightmare of a vast, black, and turbulent sea. As the story opens, Livid’s terrifying and yet familiar dream is suddenly enlarged by new and even more bewildering scenes.

Meanwhile, far to the west, a bard named Curesoon has been seeking to find his family. After the death of their fourth child, his wife vanished with their remaining sons. Thus engaged in a search to find his family, the lonely bard sits on the edge of the black bog of Miremurk where he makes ready to enter. Dark tales have been whispered about the place, and though he has tried to dismiss them as fables, a tiny sliver of fear tells him that there may be more truth to the rumors then he cares to admit.

With his first step into the shadows of Miremurk, Curesoon unknowingly embark upon an adventure that will draw in many, including even the gray-maiden named Livid.
