Fourteen-year-old Kyeran is a winged velociraptor, who, with a group of his friends, is about to embark on a long vision quest to discover his path to becoming a powerful apex predator. The night it begins, the raptors are attacked by an ancient enemy - an Unktehila dragon - and the raptors are scattered across the sea. Injured and alone, Kyeran finds himself in a region of the world that has long forgotten his species.
