about me

i am an australian woman somehow blown off course and living in the UK. i have been plugging away at this book since 2006 and reckon that if you put the words i have edited out end to end they would stretch all the way back to aus!
please help me by reading this story; any constructive criticism you make would be really welcome as i fear that this book will drive me mad. i can't read it any more without it sending me crosseyed!
it's all true, by the way, but I am more of a comedy girl than an inspirational true life story-maker.
hope you like it.

favourite books

the Woodlanders, by Thomas Hardy, top of my list. i am a hopeless romantic!
oh, and Adam Bede (best book ever but i've forgotten who wrote it- shameful!!!) perhaps its george eliot???

sauce on the ceiling

Jen Small

Sauce on the Ceiling lightheartedly follows a mid-eighties love affair; from its schmaltzy beginning to its frightening end. With big hair to boot!

Barmaid-ing Jen Small, marital non-prize, almost fell off her chair with the shock of it when the 6ft2 Adonis-y ( albeit dentally-challenged) Tasmanian, Wayne, singled her out as the object of his affections.Through the rose-coloured glasses of luuurve, she had to pinch herself to believe that she had managed to punch so high above her weight in the "phwooar!" stakes. i mean, everyone knows that for a 4 to land a 10 is completely unheard of!
Sadly, as time went on it turned out that wasn't the only punching that was going on in their little love nest. Slowly, and way too late, she realised that she had hitched her star to an absolute nutter. This story follows a four year relationship that goes from bad, to worse, to worst, losing her self esteem, her dignity and her will to live long before she finally manages to break away.
Written in a chic-lit style until the horrific bits leap into the equation, it is hoped this book will be an unmissable addition to a summer holiday!

your writing style is fabulous, inviting the audience in, and there they stay, engrossed and reading on and on. good luck view book

glad to find a fellow writer who is prepared to put their story out there to educate other women about how it can go wrong. i hope it goes well for you. perhaps you could take a look at "sauce on the ceiling" - you would be one of the few who could read it thinking "yes, i remember that too!" jen view book
