about me

My name is Melissa and I am 18 years old. I love to play guitar, sing, go for runs, read and write. I've always loved writing and there has never been a time when I didn't imagine wanting to become a published author.

I try to return all reads and will give honest feedback. I will back books only if I like them. If I've promised to take a look at your book and I've forgotten, don't hesitate to remind me.
I am so glad that I have found this site. No one had ever read my book before and I love being able to get unbiased feedback. I really just want to know if I'm capable of becoming a writer.

Thanks to Bradley Wind for the awesome book cover!!! (:

I didn't date. I didn't sing in front of people. Then, I went to England and everything changed.

When her mom gets remarried for the fourth time, Charlotte gets sent to boarding school in England. Independent, fiery and witty, Charlotte meets James. A boy that is like no other she's ever met before. Despite her best efforts not to, Charlotte soon finds herself falling and breaking her own rules. With the help of James, Charlotte finds herself overcoming her fears.

The Incident

Melissa Koehler

Maddie always dreamed of dating her childhood best friend, Tyler. She had no idea her dream would turn out to be a nightmare.

Childhood best friends, Tyler and Maddie, can't imagine their lives without one another. Every day after school, they rush home to finish their homework so the two of them can spend every moment possible together. And during school, they fill the time by writing letters to each other.

Despite the fact that both friends are impulsive and extremely opinionated, they managed to stay friends through their many, many disagreements. When Tyler begins high school, he confesses to Maddie that he's loved her all along and she couldn't be happier.

She didn't expect Tyler to change though. She didn't expect to dread being with him.

Not So Sweet Sixteen

Being curious got me into too much trouble. Now, I'm paying for it.

Sam has never been an average teenager. Sam, adopted and a loner, is tired of hiding her secrets... and being kept from even more. When she accidently discovers a strange note hidden in the basement relating to a boy she's involved with, Sam is propelled into a mystery she's driven to solve. Event after event, Sam learns more and more about her past, each new item being more painful than the last. Intrigued to know more, but at the same time, extremely hard to take in, Sam wonders if she would have been better off not knowing.

Hi, I'm here for my return read. I really liked this. Your main character is different from most that I've seen. I like when they're angry and bitter, yet likeable. Your first chapter is full of so much mystery. Your dialogue is natural and doesn't feel forced. The descriptions are smooth, intere... view book

Hi, I'm here for my part of our read swap. I absolutely love your pitches. Probably the best pitches I have ever seen on this site. They're intriguing, mysterious and well-written. Hi, I'm here for my part of our read swap. Normally, I don't read fantasy but I really found myself drawn into this. Your descriptions are vivid, straight to the point and don't drag on. Your dialogue is natural and doesn't feel forced. I absolutely love your short pitch. It's mysterious, intrigu... view book

Hi, I'm here for my part of our swap read. I'm so sorry it has taken me so long to get back to you. I've only read chapter one, but already I know that I absolutely love this book. I read most of what you have posted. Still loving this book. I only noticed a few grammer issues in chapter 7 and chapter 9, but I didn't notice much else. The sex scenes were intense and fun to read. The only issue I had with them was the writing felt a little messy. It's an easy fix. It just f... view book
