about me

I gladly swap reads! I don't like to read lots of gore, or lots of explicit language. My date book is open, and I love to read, so please message me---but the quickest way to get a swap, is comment on my story!!

Okay, now that we have that out of the way:

First, a note about my baby, Jessup and the Teleporter: The book is complete, and I have it all posted. If you want to help me, read the last 3 chapters and let me know what I can do to improve the ending!~

I have been inspired to write book #2 about Jessup. It is shaping up to be as funny and insightful about divorce and blended families, as book #1.

Also, I am trying hard to reach the Editor's Desk and would be honored if you put me on your bookshelf as long as possible. A warm, blessed THANK YOU to all my supporters, and to those who love Jessup, and I empathize with those who have experienced divorce and it's pain.

Thank you for all my friends, and for all the great crits, and support. Thanks for your part in helping me make Jessup a tightly woven, and much better story.

If you want to trade swaps, I am more than willing. I don't like erotica, lots of horrible violence, or plain evil. I love YA, christian, thrillers, bios, and clean (no erotica) romances.

I was born and raised in rural Indiana, but moved to rural Kentucky years later. I am a single mother to 4 sons (3 of whom are grown, and a 4rd nearly there!), and grandma to a darling granddaughter. I've been a writer since third grade. In 1981, I won our school's coveted Writer of the Year award. Two years straight, I won First, then Second place in the Wesleyan Advocate's writing contest. Then, I had my first publishing experience in my early twenties. Since then, I've had articles and short stories published in Christian magazines. My first book was published seven years ago for young adults. I enjoy writing books with teenage characters facing adult situations.

I am actively seeking an agent/publisher. I have three more YA novels written, with more in the works. I am definitely NOT a one-book-wonder!
I want to thank Bradley Wind for my new book cover!

Jessup and the Teleporter

D. S. Hale

Jessup is caught in the middle of his parents' ugly divorce. Can a teleporter help bring them back together, or only make matters worse?

Terrorists want Professor Strunk's new invention, the Teleporter, because whoever controls it, controls the world. His invention has the power to change the way the world travels, shops, and fight wars. Life on earth would change forever, and not for the good of mankind.

Professor Strunk teleports himself into Jessup Ousley’s television in a desperate attempt to escape the terrorists, but the experiment goes terribly wrong. Now it’s up to twelve-year-old Jessup to save the world. When he decides to harness the teleporter’s power in a side mission to reunite his divorcing parents, Jessup quickly learns from one botched attempt after another, that the press of a button can't make his problems go away. Machines only make them worse!

I love your book! I hope you are planning on putting more up soon! I have read all that you have posted, and I was gripped the entire time. I saw one error, and that was near the beginning of chapter 41, when Mick begins speaking when they have walked into the door. You have "was" and I think it... view book

You have a beautiful writing style. I am putting you in my WL to enjoy with a cup of cappaciono once I get home. I am intrigued, and I already care about the main characters. I want to know what is going to happen. Will she see her baby again?! Great job! I am sure you will make it to thedesk.... view book

I don't normally read vampire stories, but yours is well written and has caught my interest. I haven't found any errors so far. Tho the first chapter is mostly backstory, it is written well and holds the reader's attention. I am putting you in my WL to return to tomorrow. Well done, with high st... view book

This is a refreshing read. Not many men would turn from a beauty to a plain woman. You create an intriguing contrast between the two. This is very well done, and good to read. High stars! Sincerely, Donna Jessup and the Teleporter view book
