about me

I did a live radio interview this morning!! Here is the blog radio address;

http://www.blogtalkradio.com/pwrnetwork/2013/09/15/across-the-pond-with-melanie-winrow

I want to thank everyone personally for supporting my book, Jessup and the Teleporter, all the way to the desk!! You'll never know how much it means to me to have so many lovely supporters who believed in me and my book!! Thank you from the bottom of my heart, and God Bless!!

I have been very busy this month and haven't answered much mail, or read much on here, and if you thought I was ignoring you, I wasn't, just prepping my baby for his examination. lol

Now, I have time to read and critique and help out all you other wonderful writers. Please feel free to email me and i will do my best to helpl all of you acheive your dreams.

I am working on my next book in the Jessup series---continuing the saga of his little family. But in the meantime, check out my YA story, A Thief in the Night.

Thank you for all my friends, and for all the great crits, and support. Thanks for your part in helping me make Jessup a tightly woven, and much better story.

If you want to trade swaps, I am more than willing. I don't like erotica, lots of horrible violence, or plain evil. I love YA, christian, thrillers, bios, and clean (no erotica) romances.

I was born and raised in rural Indiana, but moved to rural Kentucky years later. I am a single mother to 4 sons (3 of whom are grown, and a 4rd nearly there!), and grandma to a darling granddaughter. I've been a writer since third grade. In 1981, I won our school's coveted Writer of the Year award. Two years straight, I won First, then Second place in the Wesleyan Advocate's writing contest. Then, I had my first publishing experience in my early twenties. Since then, I've had articles and short stories published in Christian magazines. My first book was published seven years ago for young adults. I enjoy writing books with teenage characters facing adult situations.

I am actively seeking an agent/publisher. I have three more YA novels written, with more in the works. I am definitely NOT a one-book-wonder!
I want to thank Bradley Wind for my new book cover!

Jessup and the Teleporter

D. S. Hale

Jessup is caught in the middle of his parents' ugly divorce. Can a teleporter help bring them back together, or only make matters worse?

Terrorists want Professor Strunk's new invention, the Teleporter, because whoever controls it, controls the world. His invention has the power to change the way the world travels, shops, and fight wars. Life on earth would change forever, and not for the good of mankind.

Professor Strunk teleports himself into Jessup Ousley’s television in a desperate attempt to escape the terrorists, but the experiment goes terribly wrong. Now it’s up to twelve-year-old Jessup to save the world. When he decides to harness the teleporter’s power in a side mission to reunite his divorcing parents, Jessup quickly learns from one botched attempt after another, that the press of a button can't make his problems go away. Machines only make them worse!

A Thief in the Night

D. S. Hale

Pregnant and scared, Hannah Waverly is abandoned by her family with a one way bus ticket to San Antonio. It's long winding road to salvation.

Hannah loses her virginity to a visiting evangelist's son, and realizes weeks later that she is pregnant. Instead of love and forgiveness, she finds rejection in her Pentecostal home. She is abandoned at the bus station with a one way ticket to San Antonio to find Jeremy, the father of her baby. But Hannah doesn't get on the bus, fearing another rejection. Susan Beasly takes Hannah into her home where Hannah learns about true love, acceptance, and forgiveness. Will she finally find peace, and love for her and her baby? A heartwarming, funny, and emotional rollercoaster love story.

Chapter 1: Tie everything down Captain?====needs a comma before Captain. Chapter 2: When writing in 3rd person, a person's thoughts should be italicised to make sense. Otherwise it is like constantly switching from 3rd person to 1st person which is confusing. Don't fall over the side kid---... view book

Diane, this is a well written, gripping story. You had me from the opening lines. You describe the scenes so well, it is like watching a movie unfold before me. I like your writing style. High stars!! Sincerely, Donna Jessup and the Teleporter view book

How old are you, Darci? Your writing is very good! I envy all that talent you have at your age! You know how many times I had to rewrite something to come out that clean? And I sure wasn't writing this well at your age. I am impressed! your story line is good and interesting. My only qu... view book

Deante, this is a very interesting story. My only suggestion, would be to make Strat's thoughts more clear. He is clearly confused about what is going on, and it seems by chapter 3 he has decided to complete his votive for Innocense, and not because Odin told him to. Usually when my main characte... view book

I like your story. it drew me in. And it made me sad. I felt such compassion for the boy, and losing his mother. The poor dear will be traumatized for life. I wonder how it could ever get to be a happy story? I have finished the first 2 chapters. I like your writing style and the boy's though... view book
