about me

Dave Hailwood has written for various comic publications around the UK, including Egmont UK's 'Toxic', Strip Magazine, Bulletproof, Futurequake and Accent UK.

He was shortlisted for a BBC sitcom writing competition, and also wrote and starred in a short comedy horror film about Killer Mutant Socks attempting to take over Bognor Regis, which aired on E4 a few years ago (they were very hard up for material back then...)

Currently he's working on several children's comedy novels, and a truckload of comic scripts involving robots, ninjas, zombies and whatnot.

He has two arms, two legs, two eyes, but sadly just the one beard.

Update: I've just removed my books from Authonomy for the time being, as I'd rather take the traditional method of sending my work off to publishers and agents than the internet approach.

For those who've supported the books in the time they have been here, it has been much appreciated!

CHIRG, heya David, I've just finished reading Chapter 2 of The Ghost Shirt. I was going to wait until after I'd read Chapter 3 to make comments, but after Chapter 2 was over I already knew I wanted this one on my book shelf (and will put it on there in a moment, along with giving it a jolly n... view book

CHIRG what-ho, Benedict! I've just read the first chapter (and will definitely read more soon) and found this a very well written story. Lots of great dialogue, fun descriptives (my favourites being: 'trembling like a small, balding earthquake' and 'having a conversation with this welshman wa... view book

CHIRG Hi Debbie, just thought I'd comment on your first few chapters. Firstly, great concept packed with some original ideas. I especially liked the dialogue exchange in Chapter 2 - very lively and well handled. I would've liked to have been submerged in the 'families creating their own... view book

Hi Tod, I've just read the first chapter of The Lost Wink and very much enjoyed it. Nice dialogue, good descriptives, and a big-nosed boy to boot. The story really comes to life with Mortimer's 'nose' rant for me, which also gives a nice feel for the characters. I thought that 'Skunkthistle' ... view book
