about me

Once upon a time, I tried my hand at children's tales. I'm now trying something different. Mighty Fine is something new...a bit of fluff...a romantic, feel good sort of thing. And still a work in progress...(ugh)

Rita and Jack are a happy couple whose only source of worry is money. Then, one day, they win the lottery...

For any couple that has ever struggled financially, the dream of winning the lottery is always a fun pastime. Jack and Rita worked hard, yet struggled from pay to pay to get by. They weren't rich in money, but oh, they were rich in so many other ways. In the blink of an eye, they have the means to make their dreams a reality, able to afford anything that caught their fancy. But all that came at a cost - A cost the money just couldn't cover...

I love, love, love this book! I don't even mind that it's incomplete here, because I know exactly what is going to unfold...and if I'm wrong, I don't wanna be right. (hmmm..isn't that a song?) Seriously though, Shirley, you are am amazing writer. You really do know how to weave words into a jo... view book

Shirley...I've read the first five chapters and will read more tonight...but had to let you know how outstanding this is. From the first chapter you drew me in...your ability to create a scene is perfect...each character breathes and the conversations flow. You allowed me to watch the truth of Tho... view book

The men defending Beathan...the King...the little droplets of things added to enhance the scene...like the salt on the floor...the attack on the beach...the vile treatment of her mother...how you fleshed out evil and stolen innocence...such devastation and pain. Scene after scene is so vividly real... view book

Like a finely crafted puzzle, the pieces fit. I was so touched by the cemetery scene where Beathan and William speak, fully understanding who they were and what might have been. Each feeling the injustice, yet able to appreciate the parents they had...the mother...Beathan's real mother, the one th... view book
