I am very happy to back Future’s End. Quite a tour de force! Robin Piper. Phuzamanzi. view book
Very happy to back Snowflake. A convincing tale told convincingly. Robin Piper. Phuzamanzi. view book
The philosophical nature of Being is reinforced by your poetic and lyrical style of writing. Quite refreshing and captivating. On my WL for backing at the first opportunity. Robin Piper. Phuzamanzi. view book
A positive tour de force that covers incredible ground. I initially thought “kitchen sink drama” but soon realised this was just the starting point as things develop… and develop! I detect healthy doses of satire here and there that sharpen the interest. But why the italics for conversation, the font colours, the weird quote style –‘wharra, wharra’ Backed. Robin Piper. Brilliant premise and executed brilliantly by an author who quite obviously knows her horses! I feel the essence of successful fantasy is to ensure the reader either suspends disbelief or actually decides the story is believable. GM is such a story. Just one quibble – I found I couldn’t quite believe the filly had total recall from the moment of birth. I would have been happier with a more gradual process that introduces the Kindreds’ telepathic abilities. On my WL for backing. Robin Piper. Phuzamanzi. view book
I believe you have a fine book on your hands. First person, present tense – not easy to maintain but as far as I can see, you have. Intriguing premise well executed. On my WL for backing. Robin Piper. Phuzamanzi. view book
Neal, hi. I am going to do two things. Firstly back your book and once done, move it semi-permanently to my WL so I can continue to dip into it whenever the mood takes me which will, I suspect, be quite frequent. Robin Piper. Phuzamanzi. view book
The very good idea of finding lots of cash and the dilemma of what to do with it is beguiling. Only 2 chapters but the plot is emerging well. Great stuff and on my WL for backing. Incidentally, I wonder whether “Stirling” shouldn’t be “Sterling”? And I don’t know whether the Jersey scheme comes off, but doesn’t Jersey have its own currency? Robin Piper. Phuzamanzi. view book
Simon, hi. Killing Elizabeth has enough action for anyone and draws the reader on. I do think your characters are a little lightly portrayed and two dimensional with detail emerging slowly through the action. Backed. Robin Piper. Phuzamanzi. view book
2150 Total Integration. How splendid to find a “real” sci-fi book on Authonomy. The scope of the trilogy looks like being as wide as the Foundation series. Good to look forward to. Backed with great pleasure. Robin Piper. Phuzamanzi. view book
Dan, hi. I attempted to back you some time back but I don’t know if it “took” I’ll try again. Robin Piper. Phuzamanzi. view book
My first second and third thoughts were “zany”. Then I changed my mind – hilarious. I just love Archie Pelago – caught me quite by surprise! I read 1 -5 and enjoyed every page. But, I was unsure for a time who the protagonist is and indeed what the plot was about. Re-reading the pitch helped though. Establishing atmosphere is one thing but losing the plot is another. A well-served Backing. Robin Piper. Phuzamanzi. view book
The Moon Workers.I enjoy historical novels and will buy this when published. Good detail in Chap 1 but perhaps too much tell and not enough show. Partly as a result, I felt you generated too much discontinuity, making it difficult for me to follow in subsequent chapters. You must search out various spelling errors vicotria is victoria. Accept should be except. Check also for word repetition in close proximity. A good effort and worth further work. Backed. Robin Piper Phuzamanzi. view book
The atmosphere you invoke smacks of reality and is compulsively believable. The plot has more twists than a pretzel but keeps the reader reading. A minor quibble: the use of transatlantic language in war-time London. Eg “railroad” instead of “railway”. On my WL for backing. Robin Piper Phuzamanzi view book
A fun story that’ll please any child from 5 to 50! On my WL for backing . Robin Piper Phuzamanzi. view book
Dynamic. Your terse style suits the action splendidly. Sure to go up and up. Backed.Robin PiperPhuzamanzi view book
I like the style of your writing and think it suited to the readers I guess to be among the younger set? Inventive and using good dialogue. A couple of quibbles: Putting shoes on to go to attic where she has bare feet; Knarled?; What prey is your name (pray); Fluxed? When I am able to back books again I shall do so - meanwhile watchlisted.Robin PIperPhuzamanzi view book
Satire is alive and well... I love the tongue -in-cheek pitch (at least I HOPE it's TIC!) and your style of writing is exactly right. I read Ch 1 thru 5 and then Ch 10. I am unable to back your book at the moment because of a problem (I think) with Authonomy that is preventing me from doing so. But you're on my watchlist for further reading and eventual backing.Robin PiperPhuzamanzi view book
Anne Gilbert - The InvadersLike the idea and feel it has lots of promise - but let's sort out the formatting probs. BTW what happened to Chapter 1? Usually sets the scene. But enough for me to shelve your book.Robin PiperPhuzamanzi view book
