about me

I like to write imaginative stuff from Science Fiction Action Adventure Thrillers to Children's books and hope one day to get my work in front of more people. I have published two of my books, The Roswell Protocols, and The Adventures of Little Al - The Lie. I have also written comic strips and a teleplay that I'm hoping will take off if I can find the right person on the inside who believes in my concepts. Currently I own a cosmetics manufacturing company. My background includes an MBA in Marketing and Finance, so I fully understand the business end as much as I enjoy the creative end.

After being here for a few weeks, I'm feeling pretty comfortable. Here's my deal. If I read your material, I will give you completely honest feedback. If I think it's good I will give you a 4-6 star rating. If I feel it's REALLY good or REALLY marketable I will back it. If not, I will give you straight forward feedback, however, I will NOT give you a low rating as I don't think that truly helps anyone out. Also, my head always go to the business side, so if I think I can help with your cover or short descriptions, I will do that as well. If your book is on my watch list, I will try to get to it as soon as possible. But please don't be slighted if it takes time. Work and family keep me pretty busy most days and if I see books close to the E.D. or in my wheelhouse I'll bump those ahead. Plus, I have to find time to write some more.

All the best,
AB

Aside from my own... I'm a big Douglas Preston / Lincoln Child fan. I just discovered Patrick Lee's Breach series and enjoyed it. Harry Potter is gold! Other than that, I'm always on the lookout for something a little different. Also, for those who love children's book, check out my link below. Thanks!

The Roswell Protocols

Allan Burd

A spaceship crashes and we'll do anything to capture it. But so will Russia, Canada, and Japan. The covert battle begins... but beware the survivors!

Inside the Cheyenne Mountain Complex, an object is detected on radar rapidly descending to earth. Just moments before impact, it vanishes, crash landing somewhere other than originally predicted. Where? No one knows. But the ripple effects are felt worldwide.

In a mountain chalet, an innocent children’s book author is about to be frightened to the very core of her soul.

In the Kremlin, a war hero is once again summoned to serve his country.

In Japan, a determined general sets a daring plan into motion.

In California, an expert in kinesics, the science of body movement, is about to be put to the test.

In Canada, the RAF takes to the skies. In Marine Corps Base Camp Pendleton, an order is given—Initiate the Roswell Protocols.

The race is on. A covert battle for the possession of advanced technology has begun. The winning country will be the sole superpower on the planet. But somewhere, on the crashed alien vessel, surviviors lurk. Are any of them truly prepared for what they’ll find . . .

Thanks for the kind comments. Quick answer. Initially the Canadian pilots were ordered to shoot down what they thought was either a meteor or space debris that was going to impact in a populated area. They were surprised to spot a glint of sunlight off of something metal when they closed in and t... view book

Gideon, I like this. The pace is fast and the story is intriguing. It hooks you early and makes you want to keep on reading. I think your style needs a little work. At times I felt it read more "screenplay" like - if that makes sense, particularily in the first Chapter when you were describing ... view book

Normally this isn't a book I would read. Didn't matter. You writing is excellent and the mystery you set up is intriguing. This is good, solid work all the way around. Consider it backed and highly rated. view book

There is a good concept here. However, to be honest, I feel it needs some work. There is way to much "tell" here and not nearly enough "show". There's a planet exploding, a huge space station that can only hope to rescue mere crumbs of their existence, a huge confession, etc. These are moments t... view book
