about me

I'm a journalist who recently went freelance so I could find more time to write my book - which I've now nearly finished. I love reading all genres, and will give anything a go if it comes as a recommendation.
As well as reading a lot, I love movies and TV - but do like to get out and about ocassionally to socialise! I'm also into running, which I find provides a great break from writing and allows fresh ideas to flow.

favourite books

Sophie Kinsella - Can You Keep a Secret
Harper Lee - To Kill a Mockingbird
Lee Child - Jack Reacher series
David Pelzer - A Child Called It
Suzanne Collins - The Hunger Games (book one)
Sir Arthur Conan Doyle - Sherlock Holmes series
Clive Barker - The Thief of Always
JK Rowling - Harry Potter (of course)

Love this idea and you have a great female MC. I love chick lit, but haven't read much on here, as my book is a completely different genre (and one I don't actually read a lot myself, was just compelled to write the book). So this month I decided to pick books I genuinely read for my shelf. This is ... view book

Thoroughly enjoyed this, what a brilliant, imaginitve story. You have a great idea here, so good luck with it. I don't really have anything else to say, as your characters are fantastic and your writing perfect. I love young adult books for their easy escapism and this is just that. Lianne Big ... view book

Your stories jump out the page, as your writing is lively and flows really well, It's the kind of writing you get caught up in and before you realise you've been reading for ages. They're lovely memores - the way you retold them kind of reminded my of the series Call the Midwife - tales of the past ... view book

Very entertaining! Stealthy Ninja photographer - brilliant line! This is fun, and I love hearing about your adverntures and the importance of Facebook and social networking - genius bringing the travelling life in to a 21st century perspective. Think people still see travellers as technology dodging... view book

Love the bits of spanish dialogue, really adds colour and a sense of who your characters are. This is a very engaging memoir or a fight against adversity. I was particularly touched by the paragraph where you stepped in to stop your brother being beaten, and your mum's pride at it being hos 'she kep... view book
