about me

Hey everybody!
Being a writer is something I recently discovered that I wanted to do. I'm a junior in college, and right before this summer began is when I had my epiphany. I've always excelled at writing in all of my English classes, I've been writing, (but not seriously writing, just goofing off), from the time that I knew how to write, and when I took a break from studying for finals this past May by writing what I thought was going to be a short story, it hit me. I love to write. It's what I want to do. And the "short story" that I thought I was writing is now a novel, (my baby), that I'm currently working on.
Enough about my love for writing, haha. I also LOVE to read! Been doing a ridiculous amount of that since I learned how to read, too. I love the classics, I love finding new books to read, I worship the Harry Potter series, and I just enjoy reading good writing. The library is always a stop I make when I'm in my hometown.

Throwing Darts

Gabrielle M Cobb

A compilation of six short stories, most of which are on the darker side, but also containing a lighter piece.

The first story, The Locket, is a mysterious tale that ends up being a bit creepy, but in all of the right ways. To immediately off-set the tone of the first tale, I picked The Wishing Rock as my next story to show that I can write in a lighter, sweeter way. It's centered mostly around a young girl and a decision she comes to realize she has to make, with her mother and grandmother around for support. The last four short stories are all a bit more morbid than the first two, but in different ways. Clarisse's Undoing is the third story, focused around young, true love, and loss. I made a sequel to this story because I felt there was a little more left to be told. A Lifetime of Sorrow, (the sequel), follows Clarisse's Undoing, and is as peaceful as it is tragic. The King is the fifth short story, and while it starts off slow and innocent enough, the ending has a surprising twist. I ended with The Snake, as it was my most recent short story that I had finished. It concerns a certain drug, but there is also a surprise.

Thanks Kate and Julie for the feedback!! I'm working on a new pitch right now, still haven't gotten it quite right haha. I'll definitely be checking out the back covers of books! Thank you Julie for recommending your writing partner! I'm always eager to learn/ improve. -Gabby view book
