about me

I was born in Croydon in late 1964, and spent the first twenty four years of my life in Norbury.

My passions include music and genealogy, amongst other things, and I wish that there were more hours in the day to pursue them.

I now live in Lancaster with long-term partner Julie. I have three children, Jamie 9, Matthew 6 and Scarlett 4.

My book 'Little Mickey H' is available NOW from www.authorhouse.co.uk

Join the boy with a brain the size of a peanut for a rip-roaring rollercoaster ride down the avenues and alleyways of Norbury!

Will Hay... Kingsley Amis... Deryck Guyler... Derek Bentley... And NOW... MIKE HARPER! Could he be the fifth most famous person to have lived in Norbury? Not if you don't all read this great book about what life was really like growing up in a sleepy London suburb at the back end of the twentieth century. Join the boy with a brain the size of a peanut for a rip-roaring rollercoaster ride down the avenues and alleyways of Norbury. SCHOOL!....CHURCH!....WORK!....FOOTBALL!....GIRLS! COULD LIFE BE ANY MORE EXCITING?

Hi Alison, thank you for your lovely comments. I was so pleased to hear from you and yes I do remember your husband Mark from St Joe's (big chap, straw-coloured hair - I don't know if I should say this, but he always reminded me for some reason of Dick Van Dyke's giant rag doll character in Chitty C... view book

I really enjoyed the first few chapters. The spiral downwards from exciting prospect is painful to read as it unfolds. Well done. Backed. Perhaps you would take a moment to look at my book too? Thanks Mike (Little Mickey H) view book
