Between Now and Then

Anne

Who is the prince that woke Sleeping Beauty? How did he find her? Are endings really as simple and happy as tales make us believe?

In a stormy night, Prince Dorian of Grim tries to find his way past a hedge of thorns. He is not seen again.

On the day after, a ship goes up in flame. Dorian’s brother William is rumoured to have been on board. Their brother Richard, a cruel and merciless warrior, is now next in line to the throne. The only one in his way is an insane king. Or is he?

Sixteen-year-old Liam finds himself in no end of trouble when Dorian turns up on his doorstep a year later, severely injured and fantasizing about a hidden castle and a hedge of thorns. He tells Liam that William has survived and is in grave danger.

Then Dorian is murdered and Liam begins a desperate search for William and the people who are threatening his life. But how exactly is Prince Richard involved? And what is his connection to the mysterious warriors that are now hard on Liam's heels?

Liam soon finds out that there is a lot more to Dorian's fantasies than he allowed himself to believe and that the events he has stumbled into date back much further than he could ever have imagined...

CHIRG and YARG: Hi Michael, I am really enjoying this story! The idea of a modern-day elf Oliver Twist living and picking pockets on the streets of New York is witty and original. Although you obviously reproduce some of the known "givens" from fantasy literature (e.g. dwarves do not like elve... view book

CHIRG and YARG review: Excellent. I do not often say that. I've read all you've put on here in one sitting and I do not often do that either. Is it possible to get the rest of it? I am quite curious as to how it continues. That said, the following by way of a review. I'll do my best to make so... view book

CHIRG and YARG review Hi D.J. thanks for your kind comments on my book the other day. Here, now, are mine in return. So far, I've read the first two chapters and there is a lot of it I really enjoy, and some things I am genuinely impressed by. I enjoy the style of your prose, especially wh... view book

I've finally managed to read a bit more of this and I am enjoying it more and more! The transition from chapter 7 to 8 is fantastic, as is chapter 8 itself. I very much enjoy how you continue to give every character their little irks and quirks. Your writing and way of describing these things is unu... view book

Benedict, I have finished everything that's on here so now I have a much better idea of the book, here is a CHIRG and also a YARG review. First of all, I can only repeat what I have said before: that I love this book! Obviously, the initial impression was correct: it is funny, witty and very c... view book
