In Chapter 7 your clearly show what life and the future had to offer in Communist Romania. All the adults just existing with sadness in their countenance, having nothing to look forward to. And the chance your family had to defect and did not take advantage of the opportunity was another blow to your dream. view book

With Chapter 5 you give a clear insight into what life is really like under communism. You brought us into your world. The package from Germany was filled with everyday items to children in the free West, but they were a treasure for you. The chewing gum and Nutella stories were so well written to tell how you treasured them. view book

Chapter 4 tells a wonderful story of your life at a young age in Bucharest. It also reveals the personality of your mother that will be so important later in your story. (This is my second reading) view book

Chapter 3 is even more revealing since this is my 2nd read of your book. I now know what this meeting and friendship with the free West Germans really means for your future. But I love your concern because of your fear of Nazi Germans. view book
