about me

I've lived in Scotland all my life although I do enjoy travelling - in recent years I've been t to Kenya, the USA and Italy. I also love writing and get as much pleasure from that as almost anything else.

I read as much and as widely as I can, although my favourite genres are crime/thrillers and fantasy with a little bit of history on the side.

favourite books

Anything by David and Leigh Eddings, Anne McCaffery, Mary Higgins Clark, Anne Perry, Richard North Patterson

Missing

Helen Short

Clara's friends were going missing. She needed to find out why.

If Clara's friends were in trouble, she had to help them. It didn't matter if they were homeless or if they lived in the biggest houses in the Grange. So when homeless people in Edinburgh started to disappear leaving their dogs behind, Clara started to investigate. But who would rescue her, when she got into trouble.

This is very interesting and well written. You give a really good idea of life in the army. I agree with some of the others that it might be better to start with Belize and do the earlier bits in flashback so that the action starts quickly. But over all, very well written. view book

Hi Jack - I've really enjoyed this. I like the characters you've created. They seem credible and real even if some of them aren't very nice people. The way you write is very easy to read and you build up suspense very well and make me want to continue reading. I've not read the whole thing as ye... view book

This is so well written, easy to read, yet complex too. I really love the characters. It seems to me that it is perfect for the young adult audience (as well as older adults, too). Very happy to back this. view book

I love this. You make me want to read more and more. It is a very powerful story, and it is brutal at times, but life was brutal in those days. You give a very convincing description of Britain as it was for the poor at that time. Thoroughly enjoyed this and look forward to reading more. view book

I really enjoyed this, what I've read so far. Like most people I've been on courses similar to this and you've captured what they are like very well. I like the characters you've created and the concept of the book is very clever. Look forward to reading more. view book
