about me

I write quirky fiction, usually featuring odd Asian girls.

GhostCityGirl and Yuko Zen both made the desk. Thanks to the many people who supported my humble scribbles.

Like Yuko Zen, I am usually somewhere else.

GhostCityGirl

Simon Paul Wilson

In 2055, Tokyo was lost.
Now, it is a city of ghosts.

The year is 2155, precisely one hundred years since Tokyo was ravaged by a ghostquake.
Sealed off from the rest of Nihon, Sector 13 is now a place only spoken about in whispers.

Kichi Honda is a young woman living in Osaka sector, the capital of Nihon City. To escape her unhappy family life and mundane job, Kichi spends her off days visiting Mister Tanaka, an old man who tells her ghost stories and about the last days of Tokyo; information that could lead to both of them being incarcerated, or worse.

Following a hover cab accident that strands her on level one of the city, Kichi meets a young girl named Miaka, who claims to have come from Sector 13.

It is Miaka who leads Kichi to the truth about what really happened in Tokyo and that history is about to repeat itself.

Time is running out.

Kichi Honda may be the only person who can save Nihon City.

That's if the serial killer, Red Raku, doesn't kill her first.

See You When The World Ends

Simon Paul Wilson

A story about life, love and the end of the world.

Naomi and Tim are just friends. Well, that's what Tim tells himself anyway. But when Naomi returns to Hong Kong for a family wedding, Tim realises his feelings may run much deeper than just friendship. While he decides what to do, he meets Abby: a girl with a deep admiration for the Japanese writer, Aurora. On her recommendation, he buys a book on the subject of dream recall. Perhaps it will help him fnd the meaning of the strange dreams he's been having? When Naomi arrives back early, everything seems perfect. But then the blurred-faced woman appears...

Yuko Zen Is Somewhere Else

Simon Paul Wilson

My name is Yuko Zen and I am somewhere else....

Have you ever read a diary that didn't belong to you?
Chris Winter had never done such a thing, but after a strange encounter in a Cantonese take-away, he happens across the journal of a girl called Yuko Zen.
Throwing his morals to the wind, Chris starts to read the journal and is quickly pulled into the world of the mysterious Miss Zen. A world with tales of Buddhist dogs, encounters with hedgehogs in yogurt pots, rumours of singing dragonflies and a girl named Pixie.
It is when Chris is totally hooked, that the journal takes an unexpected turn.
It begins to talk to him.....

This is a CWOG review. Hi Arriane, I must warn you that this review will be a little short, as my baby son is keeping me away from long periods at the computer! First of all, I love the cover of 'Theatre of Dreams'. This would have been enough to catch my interest, but I've been hearing many g... view book

This is a CWOG review. Hi Adam, OK, so I am up to chapter 13 now and realise I'm going to have to read all of this for sure. When I've done so, I'll come back and leave a more indepth comment. But for now, all I can say is bravo! This is a truly fantastic read. I will say one thing before I... view book

Hi Ruko, I have to be honest and say I don't read a lot of non-fiction, BUT you certainly grabbed my attention with this. So far, I've read four chapters and will come back for more, when real life allows! For me, the special thing about your book is the voice. I really think you have nailed th... view book

Hi Joseph, This is very impressive stuff indeed. The only crit I can give you has already been mentioned, and that's the length of your chapters. Then again, this could be a personal thing as my chapters are usually super short. It certainly didn't stop my enjoyment of the first three and will c... view book

This is a CWOG review. Hi David, I have read half of what's posted here on Autho and will be coming back for the rest soon. This, my friend, is just my cup of tea. Neil Gaiman is one of my favourite writers and your story reminds me a lot of his stuff. Please take that as a huge compliment! Yo... view book
