I'm a middle-aged mother of three, finally getting around to doing what I always wanted to do with my life - write books. Going For It is my first completed novel, and I'm now halfway through a sequel to that; I'm also working on another very different story based on the life of an elderly relative who was given away as a child. I'd like to thank Far Fetched Inc. of Sebastopol, California, who designed and made the ring pictured on my book cover; the ring features in 'Going For It', and the CEO very kindly gave permission for me to use the illustration.'Going For It' was submitted to the Romantic Novelists' Association's 'New Writers' Scheme' in 2008 and received two very positive reviews for which I was (and am) extremely grateful. I have submitted to a small number of agents but without success. I heartily recommend the RNA to anyone writing fiction with romantic elements - you couldn't wish for a more supportive, genuinely critical, and generous group of people to help your writing life along.28 June - well, folks, I'm taking a rest from the addiction that is Authonomy. I can't commit the amount of time required, or bring myself to shelve indiscriminately in the hope that return shelvings will send 'Going For It' flying onto the Desk. If anyone was going to pluck me from the slushpile, I think they would have done so by now - so I think my time will be better spent elsewhere. I'll be back when I've finished the next one! :-)

All Expenses Paid Helen, this is hilarious! I had to check and see why I hadn't found it sooner - did you take it away to edit? Anyway; at almost 52 I find chicklit difficult to relate to (all those shoes and diets); I don't know what age group this is supposed to be aimed at but I can't imagin... view book
Wrong Place, Wrong Time Mat, I'm intrigued and a little confused by your book. You can write a really gritty, evocative story; the first section in the classroom was distressingly real and I suspect any mother would have reacted to it with fury as I did. The descriptions of the lorry dri... view book
In All the Wrong Places Sheryl, this is staggeringly good. I really can't fault it. I've read the first three chapters and skimmed some more, and I'm in awe of your writing ability, your storyline, and the sheer professionalism of your presentation. If you'd like me to comment in detail when you ge... view book
Friends and Pho Heather, this is well-researched and well-written, and not at all what I expected from your pitch and the genre categories (that's a neutral comment, by the way!) I think in marketing terms you might want to re-think the chick-lit tag, because the setting you've chosen, and the ... view book
The Pointless Adventures of Dartman and Cueball Hi Henry, saw this on someone else's shelf and was intrigued by the title. The pitch is also good, although shouldn't 'grizzly' murders be 'grisly'? (or was that deliberate?) Have started reading the first few sections, and thought I would give you... view book
