about me

If you like my work I am more than grateful for your backing and any comments you may want to make.
However, I will not back a book on a 'Quid Pro Quo' basis as I feel this destroys what this site is really about.

If you leave a message asking me to look at your book, please do not feel offended if I do not take the opportunity to do so. On the other hand, if I do read your book please do not feel offended if I then choose to comment as my comments, will always be honest although, please note, I have no editorial experience and my punctuation is not all it should be.

Shaman's Lure - A well written gritty crime novel. Chapter 1: Opens with a recurring nightmarish dream that shakes journalist, Ben, night after night that is then followed by an apparently disconnected crime scene. CSI and the local police force have carried our preliminary investigations, taped the... view book

The Fantasy Trip (Young Adult) - The Prologue: What has fallen or been thrown from the train? What screamed in terror or pain as it whizzed through the air? With just a few paragraphs the author, has created an enormous hook to spike a reader's curiosity. Cleverly, this curiosity is shared by solit... view book

Futhark - Chapter 1: A hellish nightmare of a work camp where information, to assist the reader, given concerning the hierarchy and regime, is cleverly interspersed with a roll-call. I thought this worked really well. Empathy for Pinch and other inmates is immediately elicited. Pinch's escape, well ... view book

The Fallen - Book 1 - Dark Genesis: Lots of energy and enthusiasm in the prologue and first chapter, which plunges the reader straight into the action but, also confusion, that has nothing to do with the horrific battle taking place. Lots of questions occurred, that may be addressed later in the boo... view book
