about me

Just another authonomite trying to make her way :)

I'm open to swap-reads, but there are some things I won't read/will have no valuable input on. But I like most genres, so just leave me a message and I'll tell you whether or not it's my cup of tea.

Please do not ask me to back your book in return for you backing mine. I don't work that way. I'll back your book if I like it and not otherwise.

P.S I aplogise for being so slow to return reads lately. I've been feeling pretty sick lately and haven't been able to get online much. Hopefully that will change soon and I'll be able to return favours ASAP!

Liar Liar

Vee Comma

"Hera, why in God’s name did your English teacher think I was the queen of a small Indonesian province?”

When sixteen-year-old Hera Lee tells her English teacher she's the princess of a small Indonesian Province she has no idea that her stint as a Champion-Liar is up. Hera's mother signs her up for therapy with an unconventional woman who dresses like Willy Wonka. Willy Wonkeress, as Hera's fondly nicknamed her, proposes something Hera doesn't think she can do: No lies for a year.

Hera agrees, if only to get her mother off her back. But her therapist's unnerving knack of being able to tell when she's told a lie might be more than she can handle. Especially now that her childhood friend Nick is back on the scene. And he still thinks he's Peter Pan. What is UP with all the crazy book characters in Hera's life?

This is brilliant! Just simply wonderful and creative. Children would love this, it's so creative and reading about antagonists like Sacrabeus is always appealing (I really like his name, by the way, it sounds perfectly evil). Furthermore your book opens really well and your prolog had me hooked... view book

Hey there, I really liked the start of this, it established your book as fantasy straight away as well as setting up some interesting mythology. Essentially, it kept me reading. I also enjoyed the way that you didn't insert too much backstory, instead just diving straight into the action, immersing... view book

Hey Ed, sorry it's taken me so long to get here, but life was just getting in the way of my authonomy reading. Anyway, so far I'm really loving what I've read. The pacing is, in my opinion, just perfect. The reader gets the character's history with little interjections, which temporarily increase t... view book

Hi there, Your story intrigues me -- I love fantasy and all it's tropes and plots. However, I think there are a lot of ways you could improve upon this piece. The prologue, really, did not do much to hold my attention. I think you could rewrite it with shorter more to-the-point sentences. Or you co... view book

Hi there, Well, what can I say? I love the way you've written this, it flows smoothly throughout. The way you characterised Jesus was interesting and well done and your MC seems wonderful to me, too -- though perhaps a touch removed from what's happening at some points (this might just be me, thoug... view book
