about me

I've recently returned to my native Australia, after living in Europe for more than a decade. With a keen interest in music, when I first began to write, twenty or thirty years ago, I preferred to write song lyrics, but in more recent years have turned to fiction. However, I've collected together a number of the lyrics I've written over the years in the form of an anthology which I hope to publish. I expect them to have broad appeal as they not only will be available for musicians on request but may simply be read for pleasure.

A long, short fiction has been added, titled, THE BEACH.

I have also uploaded a published science fiction novella, THE SECRET JOURNALS OF ALIEN X, available on Amazon and other sites.

Cupid's Reign, unpublished, and Justice Reigns, published, have been added.

My best so far is, 'Devils' Playground - have a look see!

LYRICS SELECTION

Raymond Crane

A collection of song lyrics that make good reading.

While these copyrighted song lyrics may be of interest to composers and musicians seeking words to put to their music or to inspire a melody, they can be read as poetry for enjoyment. They cover a range of themes such as love, romance, friendship, social issues and some just fun.

Pure poetry, or with catchy choruses, the lyrics can appeal to our emotions or just give us the enjoyment of the themes, words and rhyme.

They were written over a number of years as a response to a need for self expression.

The uploaded lyrics represent about a third to a half of the complete anthology.

The Secret Journals of Alien X....

Raymond Crane

Transmigrate yourself across the universe in this body swapping story of alien hi-jinx and romance. Full of scientific hoo-hah and mysterious deeps.

Have you ever loved an alien? Have you ever been married to an alien? Find out what it’s like. Landscape architect, Randy Bilder’s life is changed completely when he is taken control of by an alien being – he’s propelled into a world of scientific research where promotion in his occupation is inevitable and his sexual adventures take a rise in frequency. But he’s a family man so he has to reconcile his new life with his obligations – until the alien forces arrive en masse. He makes three soul swapping visitations to earth to discover his mission there. Can creatures with gills inhabit the earth? Travelling through the universe from the distant planet of Oberon, the fellow beings of Alien X and the cloud people of Oberon create their own spatial environment with the inevitable conflict that ensues. Planet earth transformed.

THE BEACH

Raymond Crane

I hope this story will cause a few tears.

Long Pitch - The Beach

The story begins with the attendance of two middle-aged women at the funeral of a recently departed elderly neighbour who had lived in the house between them in a suburban area of Adelaide. A new owner moves into that house, a romantic and handsome singing cowboy. A romantic tryst develops between the three of them that involves sexual relations and full on love.

The recently departed elderly friend is constantly spoken of and a reflection of that person gives the title to this work.

The work continues on this way with also descriptions of the cowboy’s adventures in central Australia, with twists, until the final tragic denouement.

Actually I enjoyed your trip into Steam Punk, and all this snuff porn business leaves me reeling. And that's just chapter 30. Hi, just a short review of chapter 6. I found the tenderness of the piece touching and revealing. If only more women and also men could write like this!
