about me

After years in academia, teaching and directing clinical chemistry laboratories, I took a turn down another road and began writing fiction. My first novel, Dreams for Stones was published by Samhain on Christmas Day 2007. The sequel, Persistence of Dreams followed in 2009.

My novel, Counterpointe, which reached the elite eight during the Authonomy Mayhem competition, is now available at Amazon.com. (http://tinyurl.com/brrzehn)

My main goal on Authonomy is to obtain thoughtful and substantive comments that help me to further polish my stories, and I will return the favor in kind.

Love and Other Acts of Courage....

Ann Warner

A freighter-yacht collision and missing divers are the dramatic events that serve as the catalysts that reshape maritime attorney Max Gildea's life.

But it is the even stronger force of his reawakened emotions that pushes and pulls Max out of his carefully organized existence of win, lose, or settle out of court and get paid and paid well. As he works on the legal case for the only survivor of the yacht sinking, and gets pulled into the search for a couple missing from a dive trip, he will be catapulted into the chaos of sorrow and joy that are the necessary ingredients of a life lived fully.

Laurence, I decided to focus my review on your prologue since I have limited time to do critiques. Since this is what will pull readers (or not) into your story, I thought comments on it would be helpful. I decided this approach would be worthwhile once I discovered you are an excellent writer ... view book

Started reading Chap 1 and didn't stop until I was through 3 chaps. Very powerful beginning. The writing is accomplished and the characters intriguing. Highly starred and moved to my watchlist. Ann view book

Tina, I’m sorry it’s taken me so long to take a look at Sanctuary. I’ve just been very, very busy! You have an appealing premise with a gothicky romance feel to it. I found the idea of a young woman inheriting an old house very enticing. But...I think you give away too much in your pitch. ... view book

Rob, Okay, as promised, here are my comments on Lucifer’s Crossing. First and foremost, I enjoyed the read, which is why I placed it on my shelf. You are a skilled writer and you handle both the narrative parts and the dialogue well. As I was reading, at first I thought I would have little t... view book

Juli, I thought your first chapter in particular was beautifully written... Jessamy’s thoughts about suicide and flying. You also did a good job of not telling me what her problem was right away. Instead, you wove it in as backstory bit by bit. Loved this bit: Suicide is the word that pops into my m... view book
