Well done, Steve, a terrific read and right up my street as I have written a crime/thriller aswell. It was read and praised by an ex senior police officer who said my reasearch was correct and authentic and I used SOCO, too. And HOLMES.

Very clever and intriguing plot that is well written. I have had a few words from the 'cuss police' but take no notice. Like Stephen King said, 'We are not writing for an old laidies knitting circle.' People talk like that, end of...

All the very best with it. I am sure you will do well. Might even end up on TV! Fingers crossed.

Thank you all so much for your wonderful and helpful comments on my book.xxx
I am not able to get an internet connection all the time as I am piggybacking on some neighbours wireless connection until my own is put on.

I will get around to being more active on here, just need to sort my head and health out. Not to mention all that needs doing in a new home!

Love

This looks like it might well be a good read. I'll pinch it! Sounds very King and Koontzy from the synopsis. Yummy!

Lucy, I've only had a chance to read the first two chapters but so far it's a pretty good story. I felt for Lotti as soon as you mentioned the Titanic. The dream was well written, although a little eerie as well. What age group are you writing for? YA? So far I'd think over 12. I'll have to come back to see what happens next. Linda

Thank you very much , Linda. I am aiming it at 8+, children vary in their abilities so much, it's difficult. I have had comments in the past that Lottie and Bertie are behaving too young for their age, but I've fit it in with the times. Just hoping it works. I've got quite a bit of info over the years from family who lived in that era on an estate, which has helped.
Thanks again

What a wonderful reason to visit Spain. A highly amusing and extremely well depicted. I loved this chapter. Rosie was my hubby's ex wife's granny! Liked her drink apparently!!!! view book

Hi, Ally.
Both your books look like a good read, actually, so I have pinched them both. Doesn't haveto be a trade off, as I'm just enjoying being in a ha - uge virtual bookshop! Anyone ever tell you that you look like Goldie Hawn?

This book is truly worthy to be on the Ed's desk, Nicky. It is a refreshing, rib cracking account of a nutty upside down life of Brits in Spain. Who would have thought chickens were one of the funniest animal on earth. I love reading about people from your perspective. You see humour everywhere and expand on it so beautifully. Can't wait for the next installment. This will appeal to all that have even the smallest sense of humour. Good luck.

Hello, Gadflie. Nice to meet you. Thank you very much for your kind words. I hope he likes it, too. Has he mastered any of Dire Straits stuff? My hubby plays bass. I hope you like the rest. It is a complete book, but I am worried about the rumours of theft. I have had a nosey on your page and see you have a story about a leprachaun. I must read it, as I love leprachauns!

Gaz, this is stupendous and oh, so true... My hubby is a trucker and I have 'ridden shotgun' on numerous occasions. We did the Canada, US thing as well. That was for the same reason as you worked for Mr Boss. Silly really, getting experience with a 72ft missile in driving snow and trying to keep up with your buddy at 70mph on the wrong side of the road! Nice cabs though, and truck stops. My children's novel was born in one in Maine.

Your writing is very funny, especially the glossary and I hope more read it, as not only will it amuse, it will enlighten. Hubby has begun reading it now and has been in stiches. Good stuff. I hope you get it published. view book

A very well written, extremely hilarious story, Nicky. I love the list fetish! The snippet 'as the quail fies' never heard the like, it's great and just a small example of the wealth of little phrases and sentences that make it so unique and entertaining. An adapted version for TV for the autumn/winter months wouldn't go amiss either. Something to cheer up the cold miserable evenings over here. It should have a warning though.
